"Autonomy and Re-editing"

“Autonomous and Re-edit”

In creating this new piece, she considered jewelry centered around her architectural roots.

[Gothic architecture]

As the term "architecture of division" suggests, the technique is to start with the whole and then divide it into smaller and smaller parts. This is a balanced structure in which removing one element would cause the whole to collapse (each element is connected by a special relationship). This is in line with the worldview of Christian Western civilization, an absolute world designed by God, in which each and every space has a predetermined role.
→Gothic architectural jewelry

For example, a ring decorated with melee diamonds to enhance the central stone is similar in that all the diamonds are connected in a special relationship, and if one of them collapses, the balance of the entire ring collapses.

[Mies van der rohe]

In contrast to Gothic architecture, his work is sometimes described as "additive architecture," and he employs a method in which parts (units) begin with, and then repeat them as many times as necessary to form the whole. This method does not depend on the balance of the whole for structural stability; each individual component is stable (= the grid guarantees the equality of the parts), and does not assign them a specific role. This is due in part to advances in architectural technology, but it is also consistent with the modern worldview of chemistry and the infinitely expanding universe.
→Mies-style jewelry

This time, we focused on eternity rings, where parts (units) make up the whole, and redesigned the authoritative and limited space of the claw setting for the stone to create Mies-style jewelry.

Autonomy and Re-editing

Freedom from grid configurations and limited roles

The act of arranging jewelry with established standards on the body

“Autonomous and Re-editing”

In producing this new work, I considered jewelry based on architecture.

Gothic architecture

As it is called "architecture of division", the method is to first have the whole and then divide it into parts and parts into details. It can be said that it is a balanced structure (= each one is connected by a special relationship) that the whole collapses when one element is removed. It is exactly in line with the world view of Christian Western civilization, and the absolute world designed by God, that is, each space has its own role.

→ Gothic architectural jewelry

Mies van der rohe

In contrast to Gothic architecture, it is sometimes described as “additional architecture'', but first there is a part (unit), and the method of repeating the necessary number of times to form a whole is adopted. It is a stable structure that does not depend on the overall balance for structural stability. (= The grid guarantees the equality of the parts.) There is also the development of construction technology, but it is consistent with the current and world modern view of chemistry and the infinitely expanding universe.

→Mies-like jewelry

This time, we focused on the eternity ring, which is composed of parts (units), and aimed to create Mies-like jewelry by freeing ourselves from the limited space of claws for stones.
