Chamois leather or silver cloth Ⅱ

hello.

Continuing from chamois leather and silver cloth I, this time I would like to introduce about silver cloth.

In the previous article, there is no abrasive on chamois leather. I explained that the silver cloth has abrasives . In the silver care product section, there are several cloths such as the following cloths, silver cloths, silver polishing cloths, etc., although the names are different.

SILVER Polishing Cloth S-07 [Town Talk Polish Co. Ltd]
Since the silver cloth contains an abrasive component, it will be removed by polishing (= scraping) the silver that has already darkened.

The usage is the same as chamois leather, just wipe the silver product with a dry cloth.
This brings back the original color of the silver.

The blackening of silver is caused by a chemical reaction on the surface that is exposed to air, so it is an image of polishing (scraping off) the surface. Therefore, if you wipe new jewelry or plated items with a silver cloth like the one above, there will be light polishing marks. (Products with stones may be damaged by abrasive ingredients.)

Precautions after use

After using the silver cloth, there will be abrasive ingredients and polished metal particles on the surface of the jewelry. Getting rid of them is also important.

After cleaning, the cloth will turn black. And I think that you can see something like a thin blackish wipe on the silver. (If you polish the blackened state)
Such stains can be washed off with warm water.

Also, if the shape is complicated and it is difficult to remove the dirt, put it in a small bag that can be sealed (ziplock etc.), add lukewarm water + neutral detergent (such as dishwashing detergent), and shake it vigorously. Doing so will keep the dirt clean.

This is an image of removing oil stains. This is also recommended for regular cleaning.
After removing from the bag, rinse the detergent with water, remove moisture and dry.

(*If you only use a part of the product, use it a little, or if you don't mind the polishing stains, you can simply wipe it dry with a clean, soft cloth.)
